The Babcock Trailblazers had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 54-46 win over Pineapple Cove Classical Academy.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Babcock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Allen, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Allen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Jameson Habing was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Bender, who scored 14 points, and Brendan Whitney who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Barna, who scored eight points.
Babcock's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Babcock won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Innovation Montessori at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Innovation Montessori focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. John Lutheran at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. St. John Lutheran is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
