After two games on the road, Piqua is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Sidney Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Piqua ended up a good deal behind Butler and lost 44-30. While losing is never fun, Piqua can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 697th, while Butler is ranked 322nd).
Meanwhile, Sidney unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fairborn by a score of 44-42. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sidney has scored all season.
Piqua's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Sidney, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
Everything went Piqua's way against Sidney in their previous meeting back in January as Piqua made off with a 68-48 win. Does Piqua have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sidney turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
