The Monticello Buckaroo are taking a road trip to square off against the Panguitch Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Monticello has given up an average of 17.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
While Monticello's win against Pinnacle wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Buckaroo sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 18-17 victory over the Panthers on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Buckaroo in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Gemma Crater was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Jocelyne Francom also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Monticello lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Panguitch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Piute.
Jaylee Litteral led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run. Ellie Sawyer was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Monticello has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. However, it's not like Panguitch struggles in that department as they've averaged .608. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Monticello suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Panguitch when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Buckaroo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
