The dominant performance also gave Kummer a new career-high in doubles (three).
In other batting news, Ella Houser and Gabrielle O'Neill did most of the damage at the plate: Houser got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs and two RBI, while O'Neill went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave O'Neill a new career-high. Lily Ryan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Fort Wayne Snider kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.2.
The defeat snapped Carroll's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-2 record. As for Fort Wayne Snider, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Fort Wayne Snider's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Carroll has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. It's a different story for Fort Wayne Snider, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Carroll's hitters?
