It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 38-6 loss at the hands of Broomfield. Having soared to a lofty 57 points in the game before, Mesa Ridge couldn't push the score so high this time.
Bryce Riehl threw for 130 yards on 11 of 23 attempts. Ethyn Bowen was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards. On the ground, Isaiah Jones rushed for 38 yards.
Leading Broomfield to victory were Brent Harris and CT Worley. Harris gained 110 total yards and a touchdown, while Worley rushed for 24 yards and two touchdowns. Mason Smiley got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mesa Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Broomfield, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Mesa Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Broomfield will head out on the road to face off against Palmer Ridge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Palmer Ridge is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
