The Galloway Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Atlanta Classical Academy by a score of 72-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Scots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vaughn Murphy, who scored 18 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Murphy scored a full 26.1% of Galloway's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of JB Clark, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Miller McGowan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Atlanta Classical Academy, scoring 37 points along with four steals. The game was McGowan's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Andres Wright, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

As for Atlanta Classical Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Galloway won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Saraland at 5:00 p.m. on December 20th. Atlanta Classical Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lake Oconee Academy at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th. Lake Oconee Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Atlanta Classical Academy is ranked 262nd).
