There's no place like home for the Brandon Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Pearl by a score of 66-59 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Braylon Barnes, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kori Taylor, who scored 11 points.
Brandon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Pearl, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandon will take on Northwest Rankin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Rankin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Brandon is ranked 33rd). As for Pearl, they will be playing at home against Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Oak Grove is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
