The Memorial Chargers were the 58-46 winner over the Will Rogers College Ropers when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Memorial fell 52-41 to Will Rogers College on Tuesday. Memorial has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the defeat, Memorial saw an underclassman step up: Fabian Harris scored 19 points. Jalil Cotton was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds and two blocks.
Will Rogers College's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Branden Crosslen, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Crosslen has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dkarrion Titsworth, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Will Rogers College, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial will square off against McAlester at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Memorial is facing McAlester at the right time seeing as McAlester is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. As for Will Rogers College, they will head out on the road to face off against Holland Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Will Rogers College focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
