Minico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 62-52 to the Mountain View Mavericks. One positive for the Spartans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Mountain View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Patterson out in front who went 8 for 17 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. With that strong performance, Patterson is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Tolman, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards.
Minico's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Mountain View, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Minico wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-42 victory against Bishop Kelly on the 14th. As for Mountain View, they will welcome Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
