Trinity (Louisville, Ky.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it scored a touchdown with less than a minute remaining, bringing the team to victory over
St. Xavier (Cincinnati, Ohio) 14-13.
The two teams were tied at seven heading into halftime. The Shamrocks took the lead for good on a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Trinity's most effective player was
Dalyn Dawkins. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown.
The Bombers'
Armando Simpson was the standout player for his team. The junior running back threw one touchdown.
St. Xavier's lone touchdown came on a 25-yard pass from Simpson to
Nathaniel Chipman in the first quarter.
THS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 17-7.
With the win the Louisville school extended its winning streak to four games.
Trinity (4-0) will play a non-conference game against Silver Creek next week, while St. Xavier (2-2) will take on Archbishop Moeller in a Greater Catholic - South game.
