The Kenston Bombers will be home for the holidays to greet the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kenston is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Last Monday, Kenston took a serious blow against Aurora, falling 60-30. Kenston was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Alexis Black, who scored ten points.
Kenston struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls strolled past Orange with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 54-40.
It was another big night for Lilly Stukus, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. She set a new season high mark in assists with five. Another player making a difference was Avery Russell, who scored 13 points.
Kenston's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chagrin Falls, they pushed their record up to 3-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Saturday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Kenston have been dynamite from deep this season, having only drained 36.3% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Chagrin Falls, though, as they've only nailed 34.7% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Kenston beat Chagrin Falls 37-27 when the teams last played back in January. Will Kenston repeat their success, or does Chagrin Falls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
