Lake Minneola has gone a perfect 10-0 against Leesburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hawks will host the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Lake Minneola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Lake Minneola made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Montverde Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-2 victory on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jacob Cali made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other pitching news, Lake Minneola got a great performance from Brady Montrowl as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Montrowl has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
Cali wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colson May, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs May has posted since back in February. Chase Dougherty was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Lake Minneola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Leesburg's offense. They lost 15-0 to Mount Dora on Monday. The Yellow Jackets have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Lake Minneola's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Leesburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
