The Pampa Harvesters will square off against the West Plains Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pampa is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
On Friday, Pampa came up short against Canyon and fell 8-4.
Pampa saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kassie Arnzen, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Briley Daniels, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
West Plains' found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Canyon on Friday. West Plains blew past Borger 11-1.
Jaylen Kaps made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, West Plains let Teagan Beck and Izabella Wineberg run wild. Beck went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Wineberg scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most RBI Beck has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Diaz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
West Plains was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
West Plains' win bumped their record up to 8-12-1. As for Pampa, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pampa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like West Plains struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
