The Eastbrook Panthers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Southwood 56-22 at home. Fans of Eastbrook have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Eastbrook had a senior duo take command as Olivia Howell dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds and Sophia Morrison scored 18 points along with 5 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Morrison has scored at least 25% of Eastbrook's points. Another player making a difference was Estah McKim, who scored 10 points along with 5 steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Southwood struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eastbrook pulled down 12.
Eastbrook pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39.33 points. As for Southwood, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Coincidentally, Eastbrook and Southwood will both be playing Mississinewa the next time they take the court. Eastbrook will host Mississinewa at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, while Southwood will host them at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
