Basketball Recap: Friendship Christian Comes Up Short

Friendship Christian fought the good fight in their overtime game against Thales Academy Rolesville on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights 60-55. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Friendship Christian lost, don't look at Hunter Peed. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 19 on his way to 30 points. Those 30 points gave Peed a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Hemric, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Thales Academy Rolesville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malachi Fischer, who put up 12 points and six rebounds. Owen Cleek was another key player, putting up 15 points and six rebounds.

Friendship Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-10.

Friendship Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-33 loss against Thales Academy Apex on the 9th. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-49 victory against American Leadership Academy-Johnston on the 9th.
