After three games on the road, Trinity is heading back home. They will take on the Westwood Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Trinity fell victim to Jacksonville's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a rough 17-0 loss at the hands of the Fightin' Indians. While losing is never fun, Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 726th, while Jacksonville is ranked 159th).
Meanwhile, Westwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madisonville.
Westwood's goal came courtesy of
Elena Arriaga, who's now up to nine this season.
Trinity dropped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored zero goals over those three matches. As for Westwood, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.
