Springville may have come out ahead in their last matchup, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. On Friday they will take on Central City at 7:00 PM. Central City will need to watch out since Springville have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Last Friday, Springville put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on West Central to the tune of 55-16. Springville were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, after a dominant victory in their match two weeks ago, Central City were humbled. They came up short against Midland, falling 28-40. Central City's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Springville's win lifted them to 5-4 while Central City's defeat dropped them down to 7-1. If Springville want to win, Springville will need to focus on stopping Central City's junior Nick Reid, who passed for 206 yards and 3 touchdowns, and senior Trey Holub, who caught passes for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
