The Mendota Trojans have the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers today. The MaxPreps rankings favor Mendota, but they won't be able to rely on this superior ranking alone to carry them to victory.
While not quite a landslide, the contest between the Trojans and Streator on Saturday was still a pretty decisive one as Mendota wrapped it up with a 55-41 win at home.
Meanwhile, the matchup between LaSalle-Peru and Kaneland on Saturday was not a total blowout, but with LaSalle-Peru falling 58-40 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one.
Mendota is now 19-9 while LaSalle-Peru sits at 16-12. Mendota is 12-6 after wins this season, and LaSalle-Peru is 7-4 after losses.
