Volleyball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Washington Christian Academy, Model Secondary School for the Deaf was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Culpeper Homeschool Athletics Storm by a score of 2-0.

While Model Secondary School for the Deaf won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 27-25.

Their offense was headlined by Maiyalene Utley and Nirveli Smith, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Matilde Mansfield and her seven assists. She and Utley didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Culpeper Homeschool Athletics, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Fredericksburg V on the 13th. As for Culpeper Homeschool Athletics, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Maryland School for the Deaf on the 13th.
