Flintridge Prep is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Polytechnic is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Wolves will host the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Flintridge Prep's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Mayfield as they made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Wolves have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Polytechnic). They blew past Westridge 18-4 on Friday.
Amelia Shih was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brynn Connolly was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Ellery Engstrom was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Polytechnic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westridge only posted a batting average of .300.
Flintridge Prep's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Polytechnic, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
