St. Bonaventure (Ventura, Calif.) to an entertaining 29-27 win at the nation's No. 20 team
Centennial (Corona, Calif.).
According to the Los Angeles Times, following Wick's touchdown, St. Bonaventure increased the lead to 29-20 on a 6-yard TD pass from
Marc Evans to Spencer Andrews with 4:23 left.
Centennial, which lost for the first time at home since 2009 and its first season-opening loss since 2004, came right back on a 19-yard touchdown pass from
Hayden Gavett to
Giles Guy-Williams with 2:51 left.
But St. Bonaventure, which had 100-yard rushing days from Wick and Zack Green, ran out the clock.
Romello Goodman, a 5-5 running back, had a game-high 191 yards on 28 carries for Centennial.
