The Pearsall Mavericks are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Floresville Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on December 19th. Pearsall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1386th, while Floresville is ranked 438th).
Last Tuesday, Pearsall suffered a tough 66-43 loss at the hands of Crystal City.
Floresville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 25 points or more this season. They breezed by Somerset on the road to the tune of 57-23. The win was familiar territory for Floresville who now have four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Floresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenzie Huron, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jordin Johns, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Pearsall has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Floresville, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
Pearsall suffered a grim 61-37 defeat to Floresville when the teams last played back in January. Can Pearsall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
