The Pittsburg Pirates will play host again and welcome the Granada Matadors, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pittsburg will be strutting in after a win while Granada will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Pittsburg kept a clean sheet against Antioch. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. Two seems to be a good number for Pittsburg as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Jhonathan Davila Escorza and
Aaron Medina Munos, who scored both of Pittsburg's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 24 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Granada and Dougherty Valley squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly Granada had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0.
Pittsburg pushed their record up to 18-1-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those seven matches. As for Granada, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4-2.
