On Tuesday, ThunderRidge faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams. ThunderRidge took a hard 75-59 fall against Chaparral. ThunderRidge has not had much luck with Chaparral recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite their loss, ThunderRidge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Charlie Spann, who scored 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Spann hasn't dropped below 18 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Wight, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Regis Jesuit's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Highlands Ranch 76-70. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Regis Jesuit came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Highlands Ranch is ranked 74th).
ThunderRidge's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Regis Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
