The Worth County Rams lost against the Dodge County Indians back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Worth County opened the new year with a less-than-successful 58-46 defeat to Dodge County. Worth County has not had much luck with Dodge County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Worth County saw an underclassman step up: Jariah Williams scored 24 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Breonna Jackson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Worth County were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Lyric Green, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 21 rebounds for Dodge County. The match was Green's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Rhodes, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Worth County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Dodge County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Worth County will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Lanier County at 6:00 p.m. As for Dodge County, they will head out on the road to face off against Jeff Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jeff Davis is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
