Two dominant guards in Kaylee Greene and Kionna Pettus are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Burns Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Bessemer City Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

While losing is never fun, Burns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Thomas Jefferson is ranked 171st).
After soaring to a 25-point win in their last game, Bessemer City came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Shelby by a score of 67-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Burns ended up a good deal behind Bessemer City in their previous meeting back in January, losing 44-29. Can Burns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
