Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Hilton Head Christian Academy turned things around against First Baptist School last Friday. They blew past the Hurricanes 33-6. The Eagles pushed the score to 26-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hurricanes had little chance of recovering from.

Hilton Head Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kres Langhals out in front who threw for 331 yards and three TDs while completing 72% of his passes, and also rushed for 61 yards and one score. Those 61 rushing yards gave Langhals a new career-high. Joseph Houpt was Langhals' top target, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hilton Head Christian Academy's defense and their seven sacks. Leading the way was Hayne Burden with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 16.
Meanwhile, John Paul II hadn't done well against Thomas Heyward Academy recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Golden Warrriors blew past the Rebels 47-21. With the Golden Warrriors ahead 40-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Hilton Head Christian Academy better focus on containing Alan Wolf and Jadon Inabinett as the pair were huge in John Paul II's win. Wolf rushed for 102 yards and a pair of TDs, while Inabinett rushed for 140 yards and two scores on only seven carries. Wolf's passing game has become a key predictor of John Paul II's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Ethan Osterling was in the mix as well, providing the Golden Warrriors with one touchdown.
John Paul II was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 333 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Hilton Head Christian Academy's record now sits at 3-5. As for John Paul II, their record is now 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Hilton Head Christian Academy against John Paul II when the teams last played back in September, as the team secured a 56-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
