The Hammond Golden Bears put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 63-36 victory over Reservoir on the road. Given Hammond's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Reservoir is ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Nia Green, who dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 steals. Those 11 steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sara Yarnell, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Hammond pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Reservoir, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Hammond will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Howard at 5:30 p.m. Howard is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Reservoir, they will square off against Centennial at TBD on Wednesday. Centennial is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
