The Crisp County Cougars had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turner County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Crisp County still got an impressive performance from Smoke Dwight, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds. Cayden Daniels was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 4 steals.
Crisp County's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Turner County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Crisp County will be playing at home against Sumter County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Turner County, they will head out on the road to face off against Pelham at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
