The Elsie Allen Lobos's game on Wednesday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a serious blow against Ukiah, falling 56-28. Elsie Allen has struggled against Ukiah recently, as their game on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Ukiah to victory were Tony Zacarias and Omaurie Phillips-Porter. Zacarias scored 21 points along with three steals, while Phillips-Porter scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals. Phillips-Porter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachariah Martinez, who scored eight points.
Elsie Allen dropped their record down to 11-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Ukiah, St. Vincent de Paul, and Ukiah. As for Ukiah, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-5.
Elsie Allen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ukiah, they will square off against St. Vincent de Paul at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. St. Vincent de Paul will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ukiah surely won't give up without a fight.
