Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bryan Station

Bryan Station extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 11-4 in the process. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Montgomery County Indians. Surprisingly, this marked the Defenders' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Karsyn Rockvoan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

In other batting news, Tiahna Bowman was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

As for Montgomery County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. Surprisingly, this marked their fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

On Montgomery County's side, Lilliana Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Addison Rodgers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bryan Station will face off against Oldham County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montgomery County, they will take on Paul Laurence Dunbar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.61 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
