After flying high against the Marcos de Niza Padres last Wednesday, the Mesquite Wildcats came back down to earth. Mesquite fell just short of Arcadia by a score of 2-1. Mesquite has not had much luck with Arcadia recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Arcadia, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5-1 record this season.
Mesquite will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Seton Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Mesquite is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season. As for Arcadia, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Paradise Honors at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. Arcadia is on a three-game streak of home wins, Paradise Honors a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch.
