After losing to the Gateway Olympians the last time they met, the Pomona Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Pomona had just enough and edged Gateway out 53-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pomona.
Among those leading the charge was Joshua James, who scored 22 points along with 8 steals and 7 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Pomona's points. Another player making a difference was Dj Hawkins, who scored 19 points.
Pomona's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Gateway, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Pomona's road trip will continue as they head out to face Standley Lake at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Standley Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday. As for Gateway, they will take on Thornton at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
