Ooltewah's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Red Bank. The Owls haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Hailey Schmidt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Schmidt was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Addilyn Watts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaylin Leblanc, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Sale Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Chattanooga Central on Tuesday and fell 7-6.
Josie Payne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Madisyn Beene was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Sale Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1. As for Ooltewah, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.
Sale Creek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ooltewah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. It's a different story for Sale Creek, though, as they've only averaged .235. Will they be able to contain Ooltewah's hitters?
