Covington came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Versailles Tigers as they made off with a 17-1 victory. This was payback for the Buccs, who suffered a 10-9 loss the last time these two teams met.
Whitney Burns made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
