The Memorial Red Devils lost against the Newton Falls Tigers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Memorial's tough 46-24 defeat to Newton Falls might stick with them for a while. Memorial has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Memorial lost, one person who can't be blamed is Diamon Sims. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. The contest was Sims' third in a row with at least ten points.
Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Newton Falls, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial will challenge Crestview at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Crestview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Memorial in Ohio (Crestview is ranked 71st, while Memorial is ranked 704th). As for Newton Falls, they will head out on the road to face off against Southeast at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Southeast's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Newton Falls has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
