The Lakota Tech Tatanka will head out on the road to face off against the Crow Creek Chieftains at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Lakota Tech was fully in charge, breezing past Pine Ridge 67-30 at home.
Lakota Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shania Ferguson led the charge by scoring 23 points along with eight assists and four steals. It was the first time this season that Ferguson posted eight or more assists. Isabella Shangreaux was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Crow Creek entered their tilt with Santee with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Crow Creek walked away with a 68-56 victory over Santee on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lakota Tech's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Crow Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lakota Tech against Crow Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 85-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakota Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
