The Woodlan Warriors will take on the South Adams Starfires at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Woodlan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Fort Wayne Bishop Luers 15-5. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Sophia Martin looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Alyssa Harvey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Riley, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Woodlan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, South Adams waltzed into their contest on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 12-2 win. That's two games straight that the Starfires have won by exactly ten runs.
Addie Baker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, South Adams got a massive performance out of Shelby Weigel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That home run was Weigel's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reagan Bollenbacher, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.
Woodlan's victory bumped their record up to 24-5. As for South Adams, their win bumped their record up to 23-5.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Woodlan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. However, it's not like South Adams struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Woodlan suffered a grim 15-6 defeat to South Adams when the teams last played on May 13th. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
