The St. John Lutheran Saints entered their tilt with the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. St. John Lutheran came out on top against Saint Francis Catholic by a score of 47-38 on Thursday. For St. John Lutheran, this counts as revenge for the 41-26 defeat Saint Francis Catholic walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. John Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabel Freeman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds. Freeman is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla joy Bowen, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
St. John Lutheran pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Lutheran will take on First Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. First Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Union County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Union County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
