In what's become a running theme this season, the Coolidge Bears gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Florence 71-39 at home. The victory was nothing new for Coolidge as they're now sitting on five straight.
Leading Coolidge to victory were Alaysia White and Naylissa Charles. White dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Charles scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which White has scored at least a third of Coolidge's points. Amaira Miguel was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Florence still got an impressive performance from Keylee Scarbrough, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Scarbrough also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Bryan, who scored ten points.
Coolidge's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.67 points. As for Florence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coolidge will face off against San Tan Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Tan Foothills has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20. As for Florence, they will head out on the road to challenge Globe at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Globe is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
