The Trumann Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Warren Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Trumann can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 47-6 win over Harrisburg on the road. The win was just what Trumann needed coming off of a 49-14 defeat in their prior matchup.
Trumann can attribute much of their success to Cade Hatton, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and Jake Osment, who rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns. Osment is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Kayden Dunavin was another major influence, as he rushed for 59 yards and ran in a TD.
Another reason for the win was Trumann's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Gavin Cubit was especially locked on to Harrisburg's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Warren put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over Hamburg. Given Warren's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Hamburg is ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trumann's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Warren, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Trumann was dealt a bruising 35-7 defeat at the hands of Warren in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can Trumann avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
