St. Peter's Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past St. Augustine Prep with points to spare, taking the game 31-17.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph Regional never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past Delbarton 35-0. The win was familiar territory for the Green Knights, who have now won four contests in a row.
St. Joseph Regional's win came from a few key players St. Peter's Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Stalin Knowlden, who picked up 96 receiving yards and one TD, and also punched in one score on the ground. Nathan Bailey was in the mix too, providing St. Joseph Regional with two touchdowns.
St. Joseph Regional's run defense was locked in: Delbarton could only muster 0.8 yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Cameron Aime stood above the rest. He picked up 2.5 sacks and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss). St. Joseph Regional's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 2.9.
St. Joseph Regional's defense didn't let Gavin Gilardi, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. In that department, Aime was the leader with 2.5. Tahj Gray was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making seven total tackles (2.5 for loss), and defending one pass.
St. Peter's Prep's record is now 8-2. As for St. Joseph Regional, their record now sits at an identical 8-2.
