Baseball Game Preview: Cameron Dragons vs. Valley Lumberjacks

Cameron has gone a perfect 10-0 against Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Dragons will be playing at home against the Lumberjacks at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Cameron's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Valley has been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Cameron is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Paden City get on the board and left with a 19-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kason Angel was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Soier Reed was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cameron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.4.

Meanwhile, Valley hadn't done well against Frontier recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lumberjacks skirted past the Cougars 8-7.

Cameron is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10.

Everything went Cameron's way against Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Cameron made off with a 17-1 victory. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lumberjacks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
