While Homedale's win against Payette wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Pirates 3-1. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Trojans have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Mason Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Homedale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Martell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win was the third in a row for Homedale, bringing their record up to 11-2. As for Payette, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Homedale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
