Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Antioch walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Harlem Huskies on Tuesday as they made off with a 32-7 win. Considering the Sequoits have won 14 games by more than 20 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Antioch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tanner Ludwig, who threw for 226 yards and four TDs while completing 81.5% of her passes, and also rushed for 57 yards on only seven carries. Ludwig is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Reese Queensland was Ludwig's top target, picking up 69 receiving yards and three scores.
Another reason for the win was Antioch's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Rylee Dunlavy.
Antioch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.0 points on average over those games. As for Harlem, they moved to 15-4 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Antioch will challenge Whitney Young at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Sequoits 9.7, the Dolphins 7.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Harlem does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
