Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Lumberton Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 36-0 loss at the hands of Taylorsville on Friday. Lumberton's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Taylorsville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dre Keyes, who picked up 93 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a rushing score.
Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Taylorsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Lumberton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Taylorsville will face off against Simmons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Simmons' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last ten matches.
