Cathedral Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Eastern this week by beating St. Augustine, 28-20. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Dons.
Mira Mesa moved up to 316 from 360 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Marauders climbed the ranks as a result of beating Morse 44-32.
Lincoln's dynamic duo of Ian Hardman and Tyree Robinson proved tough for Scripps Ranch to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hardman threw for 319 yards and six touchdowns and Robinson had 157 yards receiving. Tajon Mondy helped Lincoln's passing attack out by catching four balls for 91 yards.
Elijah Preston was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 33 carries, he ran for 173 yards as the Saints bested the Falcons. Francoise Sims II also contributed to the rushing game with 49 yards on the ground.
Kyle Daly made the biggest impact on defense this week as St. Augustine lost to Cathedral Catholic. The 5-foot-9 defensive back grabbed one interception.
6-foot-4 quarterback Hardman of Lincoln is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1080. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, Richard Sanchez's team's Preston has rushed for 672 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Xavier Williams. The Cathedral Catholic star has 21 catches for 416 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Sean Doyle's team takes on Mira Mesa. As it stands, the Dons are in second, while Gary Blevins' team is in fourth.
The Marauders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,868 from 4,485. The advance stemmed from a 44-32 victory over the Tigers last week.
