Grace Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nate Jones led the charge by scoring 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Zimmerman, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Despite the defeat, Berean Baptist Academy saw an underclassman step up: Josiah Sanders dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanders has scored all season. Amari Goggins was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Grace Christian's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Berean Baptist Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Grace Christian will head out on the road to face off against Wesleyan Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wesleyan Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three contests. Berean Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Overhills at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Overhills is ranked 344th, while Berean Baptist Academy is ranked 332nd).
