Dinuba has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Kingsburg Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Dinuba's game on Friday was all tied up 13-13 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They and Mission Oak were almost perfectly matched up, but Dinuba suffered an agonizing 28-27 loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Diego Tuttle, who rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown. Julian Ramirez was in the mix as well, providing Dinuba with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kingsburg put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Selma for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-6 win on the road. Given Kingsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Selma is ranked 638th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kingsburg's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Max Warkentin, who threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and Ryan Martinez, who picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kaleb Pedersen was another key contributor, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
With Dinuba's loss and Mission Oak's win, both teams now sport identical 5-5 records.
Dinuba took a serious blow against Kingsburg when the teams last played back in September, falling 42-14. Can Dinuba avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
