Loyola (Los Angeles, Calif.) lost to
Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.), 28-10.
After taking the lead on a
Khalfani Muhammad touchdown run in the second quarter, the Knights led 14-7 at the half.
Notre Dame expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. ND scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Kelly Hilinski to
Daniel Khan.
Cameron Walker made a difference for the Cubs. The senior ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to five on the year.
Hilinski was the top performer for the Sherman Oaks school. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
Loyola's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Walker in the second quarter.
The Knights came in allowing an average of 20.6 points per game this season. Notre Dame held firm on the defensive front, and kept LHS well below the 26.9 points it had been averaging per game.
ND got revenge for last year's 27-14 loss to the Los Angeles school with the victory.
In a Serra game next week Notre Dame (6-3) takes on Bishop Amat, and Loyola (6-2) will go up against Bishop Amat also in a Serra game.
